Meet Javier: An Ambassador to Argentina Agribusiness
Meet Javier
As an agronomist from Buenos Aires University and former undersecretary of Agricultural Markets in Argentina, I bring a wealth of knowledge to consulting for local and international businesses.
What Inspires Me
I want to share knowledge with people in the agribusiness community outside of Argentina. I have built a large X following and host weekly X Spaces with industry experts.
What's Unique About Farming in Argentina?
Argentina has a large oilseed industry cluster in the Up River, close to Rosario City. These are the largest processing facilities in the world.
Common Farming Misconceptions in Argentina.
Export taxes are just a way to collect money for fiscal arks, while as grain and by-products increase, there will be more tax collection for the government! It is not any sort of subsidy or anti-competitive tool for other downstream businesses.
What I am Excited About
I believe that Argentina, my country, has an enormous potential to bring new investment into farming and all agribusiness. There is a huge opportunity to transform grains into value-added products such as ethanol, cattle, and aquaculture.
